Tsavo East National Park
Tsavo East, covering an area of 13474 sq. km is famous for some of the largest
herds of elephants in Kenya.
The elephants seem to have a red color, just like many other animals in the
park, which is caused by the red dust which they spray on themselves against
insects or parasites.
Lion of Tsavo
The lions of Tsavo owe their fame to the book and movie “The Man-eaters of
Tsavo”. Here a few lions ate several railroad workers during early 20th
century. The lions were later shot dead. It seems the reason they attacked
people were because of their bad teeth, which made it difficult for them to chew
buffalo or gazelle meat.
At around 1830hrs drive back to the Lodge/Camp of you choice for dinner and overnight.
Tea or Coffee. Early morning game drive in the park. This game drive allows you to see nocturnal animals as they retreat to their hideouts. Breakfast at your Safari Lodge, after breakfast then game drive as you proceed towards exit of the park.
