Tsavo East National Park
Tsavo East, covering an area of 13474 sq. km is famous for some of the largest
herds of elephants in Kenya.
The elephants seem to have a red colour, just like many other animals in the
park, which is caused by the red dust which they spray on themselves against
insects or parasites.

Lion of Tsavo
The lions of Tsavo owe their fame to the book and movie “The Man-eaters of
Tsavo”. Here a few lions ate several railroad workers during early 20th
century. The lions were later shot dead. It seems the reason they attacked
people were because of their bad teeth, which made it difficult for them to chew
buffalo or gazelle meat.

stay.

Amboseli is a Maasai word for ‘salty dust”. This is because during the dry

the largest elephant herds as they roam between the swamps and the foot of
Africa’s highest mountain!

LAKE NAIVASHA TO MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

After a good breakfast, you will drive to the world-famous Maasai Mara, Kenya’s best-known and most visited nature reserve. The 1.540 km² nature reserve forms a shared ecosystem with the Serengeti in Tanzania. The annual seasonal migration of an estimated 2 million ungulates, especially wildebeests, gazelles and zebras, fascinates every visitor.
The Maasai Mara contains different natural habitats for the native fauna: the vast plains covered with tall red grass and scattered acacias, rolling hills covered with short grass, rocky inselbergs, small forest areas, extensive marshlands, wetlands and of course the mighty Mara River with its riparian forests.
Game drives in the Mara are carried out with vehicles and local drivers from the camp!
You will arrive at your tent camp for lunch. After the lunch break, you set off on an extensive game drive until dusk.
In the evening, listen to the sounds of the African night around the campfire in front of the restaurant and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere with a drink and conversation about the day’s experiences in the Maasai Mara. The African wilderness is very close here!

You will have picnic lunch within the reserve before proceeding with your game drive arriving back to the camp in the late afternoon to relax. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp or lodge of your choice. Masai Mara national Park information Maasai Mara is a Maasai word meaning ‘spotted’, this is because when you take a panoramic view what you see is a mass of endless savannah grasslands spotted by scanty bushes of croton dichogamous! The reserve, covering 1510 sq. km. happens to be the Northern continuation of Tanzania’s Serengeti national park from where the animals roam freely in search of greener pastures.
Each year between July and October the Greatest animal spectacle -the Wildebeests migration takes place in this reserve. During this time close to 2 million wildebeests, followed by around half a million zebras and around 250,000 gazelles arrive in the reserve, crossing the Mara River where crocodiles often lie waiting to pounce on them!
